Welcome, Kailyn! Do you mean a 1998 New Beetle or perhaps a 1998 Mexican Beetle? My guess is that it's the former, and someone here probably can help you with the tail light. If not, you might want to try here:  http://tech.bentleypublishers.com/forum … wagen.a.nb

Good luck.

Your "old Geeeser" friend,

Ok, time for an bit of an explanation. Since the establishment of second version of Volkswebbin back in 2004, Darren asked me to serve as a 'moderator' on this site. The task was pretty simple, and with Darren's upgrades and anti-spam applications, I was able to manage pretty well by myself.

However, I am now facing some health issues that don't allow me the extra time to serve in the capacity that I've tried to manage over the last 5 years. So I asked Darren for some help. Darren and the moderators are not here to be censors or to ride herd on the membership...they are here to keep this site running smoothly and keep it from being overrun by spammers.

This site has been a pleasure for me, both as a member and as a moderator. You guys and girls are self-moderating and are actually one of the most civil and courteous bunch I've found on the web. I thank you for that.

Clancy

Very nice, Doug! Very nice!! You have much to be proud of in that Project. I like it all, but I really like the square-weave carpeting.

Thanks for sharing the project and final results with us.

Clancy

Biggie: Yours may be missing the tapered base piece that locks fairly well in to the tapered hole in the carb body. Keep looking, you may find it. However, if you do find it you would need to somehow afix it to the tube. A little flux and solder would work fine; being sure that you didn't clog up the passage in the tube.

If not, drop me a line and I'll look through 'ye olde junke box' and see if I have a serviceable tube I could send you.

I've left a note for Darren about the "unable to fetch" errors we are experiencing. Hopefully, he will be able to fix the issue but until then I'll just add my heartfelt wishes for everyone's holidays.....including you Canadians and your 'Boxing Day"!!

Take care.

The e-registration does require an email address....but just about any email address works....even the ones that the spammers use. I've communicated with Darren about this. He's indicated that just as soon as the software is upgraded, spammers have figured out a way around it. It's the price we pay for having an internet.

Please, everyone, if you see an unrelated response in one of the legitimate threads, please don't click on the link shown at the bottom of the spammer's message. Same for the new post a spammer may make.

Dry powder is still available: http://www.schaefferoil.com/specialty/3 … plate.html This powder is applied with a solvent that evaporates leaving the dry film behind.

Welcome, Trace!.....but sometimes it's easier to introduce yourself in a new thread. No, the last post prior to yours was in September 2009. You were looking at Bug In My Nose's registration date. So tell us about yourself....in a new thread!!
