Topic: solex 32 PDSIT 2/3 float level
does anyone know what the float level should be on the solex 32 PDSIT 2/3 dual carbs for a '64 notchback? All that I can find in the manuals that I have is float weight. Thanx

Take a 19 mm open end wrench,, fill the bowl up until the float shuts off the gas flow,, hold the open ended 19 mm wrench up to the bowl. The distance from the top of the bowl to the fuel level is the same distance as the 19 mm open ended opening.

I have a dune buggy I built in 1970 with a pancake engine probably out of a fastback/squareback. It has dual Solex 32PDSIT carbs and I have lately had TONS of fun with carburetors. I have adjusted float levels and have the proper levels but not with me now. Have manual gives level. Measured down from upper rim of float chamber, it was a range, perhaps 13 - 17MM but am just not sure. Wish I was as I am going thru resetting these levels now in hopes it will cure a problem with idle circuit.
I built a plexiglass jig that using the 2 rear screws, screws on the float chamber & has an 8-32 screw & locknut. Tip of screw projects into float chamber, touches float in place of float valve pin... I put a mark on the inside of the float bowl with graphite pencil - it stays & is unaffected by gas.
So try 15mm from top lip, & good luck.
