Re: WTB VW224 King Pin Reamer

Joe: I have two reamers. One is an Official VW224 purchased from one of the members here in the Classifieds and the other is an adjustable reamer that I purchased a few years back from Chadwick & Trefethen Tools. It is model "02546 LP".   I used this one the last time I redid the kingpin bushes on my '65 Bug for a total of 4 bushes. It has one pilot guide cone to center the reamer (vs the 224 which has two cones) See: http://www.chadwickreamers.com/angle_bl … fractional . Their current price is $73.29 plus shipping. I think they also can provide a second pilot guide for an additional cost.

It is not as heavy of a tool as the 224 but still very well made and did an excellent job. I have not yet used the 224 but it is not for sale. They occasionally show up in the Samba classifieds and on ebay. If interested in the C&T reamer send me an email and we can discuss.

Re: WTB VW224 King Pin Reamer

Manfred,
Have anymore reamers to be used on a 63 Ghia Vert?  I am looking to replace the kingpins and want to get a reamer to do it myself.

Re: WTB VW224 King Pin Reamer

I have a KD 3126 King Bolt Bushing Reamer 3126 which is the one for VW bugs. I used it once  and I would sell it for $15 plus shipping. If you are interested contact me.

Hello alcyclist,

If you still have the reamer available, I'd like to buy it.

Thanks,

Dave
