How to replace-seat belts at snaplever (1970)

I got the 3-point seat belts from motorworks, for my 1970 vert.  Easy to intall along with the two-point in the back seat, but what is everyone doing about the lever between the front seats where the old belt used to snap in?  There are probably many options, I just put a metal bracket around the lever fixture that is there, and then bolted the ends of the seat belts together on that bracket.  It doesnt look pretty but is secure.  Anyone else had this puzzler?  (If you havent seen the replacement ones, they have to be permanently fastened at each point, as there is a buckle release in your lap, while the old 40 year old belts did not have a buckle).
