Any speculation out there in Volkswebbin'land as to why a KG might ride lower on one side than the other?
I'm talking suspension components here...............not an overloaded car.
Front, rear, both on one side?
Mike: Front or rear or both? Ball joint or king pin? I once had a right front king pin beam lock up at the linkpins. This caused the right front to ride lower than it should have. It was due to lubrication neglect. Other causes for the front can be broken torsion leaves. On the back end, I've found incorrect indexing on one side of the rear torsion bar. Evidently the prior owner stopped half way through trying to lift a tired rear suspension. Any accidents in the KG's history?
Probably lots of other reasons but these are the causes I've encountered.

On the back I'd suspect either what Clancy said, or one corner "settling" more with age. On mine, the battery side sits lower and happens to be the driver's side, and the PO was fairly stocky too. Almost seems like they adjusted the rear suspension without the battery, then when they installed that big block of lead in the far corner...
They knew it was not level though because someone adjusted the rear bumper to make it LOOK level, instead of adjusting the suspension. Yeah, it's on my to-do list.

I should have been a bit more clear about posting up that question.
This is a lean to the driver's side, irrespective of front or back. When viewed from the back or front the car looks as if it is leaning to the driver's side.
Thanks for the responses so far. I'm not really up on suspension components (I'm a stock kinda guy and I really have not reason to mess around with the suspension) and this looks strange to me, based on the little I do know about VW suspension.
Yeah what they said but, what year? On one of my cars the link pins were wore out but when you lifted it up to see if there was play per Bentley there was none. They were worn oblong with tension and when the tension was taken off they went to an unworn area so they appeared to be tight.
Jack up one end of the leaning side(front or rear) on a level service and see if that levels it out. If it does that end is your culprit.
Muir book does mention this someplace, something along the lines of "years of carrying around only a driver" and causing the suspension to lean to one side. The above comments pretty much cover it, although if it's IRS I'd look at the trailing arm bushings and spring plate bushings first.

Torsion Bar's in the Rear are slippin in there houseing !!
New torsion Bar's <<< You can hear them on Speed Bump's in Parkin lotts when you creep over them !! If Not get Rougher with it ??
