lol-i was kidding -but how cool would that look
but to get the effect i would want i would need to have the pipes come out from behind the front tires
me an my posse(lol) spent too much time playing with old fords and chevs and customizing them to our dream machines
they never looked as perfect as in our heads but they were still pretty cool-lol

Re: how do i get my 64 to blow fire like this

Drove a M138A - 52 Jeep ! Same Jeep as a CJ-5 except it had 16 Leaves in the Leaf spring , and tail gate doesnt go up and down .
Was built By Milne Bros. Super Stock out of Pasadena Calif. We bought it with blown motor . 426 Chrysler and not a Hemi ! Stage 3 Wedge Head's , with a 2 four barrell's on a Ramm manifold !
What was cool about it was the Headers !! They rann down behind the Front tire's and were capped with a plate !
2 In. Above the plate the T'd intoo Glass Pack's !
3 bolt's held the Capp plate on ! One of these bolt's was a Hinge Bolt the other 2 were wing nutt bolt's .
Long story short ?? 2 wing nut's and spin the plate you could uncork the header's !
But the whole Pippin and Poppin like this Video wasnt goin on ! That's Just badd timming out of sync carb's , and crazy Jethro B.S.
But Our Jeep It spitt flame's !
Blue Flames ! Was Badd Azz  at Night or Evening !
Only Car I ever Drove that would Pull wheelie's at will ! Damm Lucky I never Killed myself in it !! Wasnt Cause I wasnt Tryin !
First wheelie I ever Pulled I had the outside Driver side Mirror turned down so I could watch rear wheel spinn !
Couldnt break them looose ! Just Keptin squeallin louder and louder !
So after coupla try's while observeing the rear wheel in my Mirror I really got in her !
Steering wheel came up smacked me in the head so hard I thought I was at home in my Bed asleep . LMAO
So      Im not gonna try to tell anyone how dangerous car wheelies are !!
But not at all uncommon to kill your self Pullin one !! In fact God loves a fool like me ! Most dangerous thing to do in a Car.
Wasnt until year's later started following Dragg Racing event's that I really came to appreciate just how lucky I really was !
But Blue Flame's are cool ! Especially when you have the torque to almost jump straight up and Down with a romp on the pedal .
Sittin At an Idle in neutral . She would Sqaut on her Haunche's when the gas was romped !
  Think I was 16 or 17 !
I never talk about Turnin 18 !! God can only Suffer a fool so Long ???/ LMAO

LOL

I had a 64 VW and a couple of Dodges in the 60's that did that - but after i timed it and leaned it out a bit it stopped doing that!!  LOL  One 68 383 Dart GTS one of like 1300, had black carbon all over the underside of the hood as i remember.  This however is much cooler.  It actually looks like it actually could drive.  Thanks for the post

Re: how do i get my 64 to blow fire like this

Way back in the day, we'd get an old Ford spark coil (you youngsters probably don't have any idea of what that is) and connect it to a couple of spark plugs screwed into a hole in the rear of each exhaust pipe.  Flip a switch and we'd get two foot flames out the back.  A slightly rich mixture helped.  The system simply burns unburned gas in the exhaust.  It probably wouldn't work with computer controlled engines which regulate what's going out the exhaust.  It should work with a Beetle.
