Topic: About that walonut gearshift knob.................

Hiya All,

I promised first refusal on an NOS VW walnut gearshift knob to somebody out there in Volkswebbin' land.  To be honest I can't remember who that somebody was.  In any event, I do have a potential buyer for the knob lined up and I have to take off to a swap (where the sale is tentaively to take place) tomorrow at 8:00 am PDT.

If you still want it contact me before 8:00 am tomorrow and I will set it aside for you.  We can make payment arrangements when I return on Sunday.

If I don't hear from you free market enterprise will rule the day.

Hiya Mark,

Thanks for doing the archival thing.

Yes, that was the thread and that was the knob.  It's now on its way to Germany with a young chap who has a bus and a bug back in der fatherland.

He, and a couple of other German nationals I met mentioned that AC VWs were quite rare in Germany.  The older vehicles are very hard to get licensed because they often do not meet the vehicle examination standards over there.  And parts prices are screamingly high - that's why he bought a lot of parts from me.  He wanted to buy more but he didn't have enough room in his luggage.

Hiya pent,

Yup, it was a nice one.  But I couldn't use it on my AutoStick and it been sitting on a shelf for a few years, so it was time to find a new home.
