Sounds like a lot of work. I have seen a Herbie that was painted and the gentleman who did it certainly took a lot of time doing it. Of course he made a mess spraying it into the vent in the back of the car (in my opinion) and the decals look a little better from that stand point.
But if you need measurements from the original decals I could do it for you. Just let me know.
Wendyful (do you make these quality decals and stripes?) I'm looking for the "53" gumball decals in different sizes for my '74 bug one 16.5 inch for the hood, two at 14 and one at only 10 inches in diameter for the rear deck lid as to not be affected by the grille. Is it possible to get these sizes in the quality vinyl? Thanks. Rennie

The gumballs for the doors & rear lid are the same size, the front lid is larger and numbers spaced differently. The blue is a lighter color as well.
Hey Darby,
How many Milnors do you know?--Just wondering. I'm doing some research.

Yeah Drew, someone has done the "reverse" Herbie before. I was curious about what it would look like too. We discussed it on the lovebugfans.com forum, if you want to check out the photo. Here's the link to that page:
Hi I came across this form and hope I can help a bit with the sizes. They will vary with year of bug as some have larger rear vents the hood 53 is the largest and the doors are 2" smaller than the hood with the deck 2" smaller than the door depending on year. I run a full servis custom graphic shop and have made up many herbie kits I would be more than happy to answer any qustions you can email me at. tnt_grafix@ yahoo.com or springers1@verizon.net
