@@ VW has a special tool ( of course ). You can get pretty close
with a regular timing light and use the arrow mark on the timing
cover and hash mark on the crank pulley. You'll have to consult a
Bentley manual on the timing pick up, I don't remember the color
wire you need. I take it you have a GX model w/no tachometer in the
dash ?
