Topic: 85 westy fuel tank

I just got suckered into putting in a NEW gas tank for my Westy -
picked it up 10 minutes ago - got to see the old one and couldn't
believe they didn't fix up the old one - was told they could have
had it"epoxied" for $100 - my bill for the new one was $440 then the
labour on top for a total of $625 - had I not been up to my butt in
snow and ice with no indoor facility I could have fixed it myself
for $100 - if there's anyone out there needs a tank they can have
mine for $50 - then get it epoxied - tank looks really good and the
leaks were on the top and are only pinholes, Cheers Ron

@@ Vanagon gas tanks are one of those been there , done that kind of
things that most owners can symapthize with you. Trust me with all
the internal baffels holding the crud you COULDN'T see waiting to
clog your inlet and lines you are MUCH better off in the long run to
have replaced it.
