I am in need of a good swing axle trans for my 66 bug. A "stock"
rebuilt will suffice , although I have thought about beefing it up
know with some dreams of a bigger engine in the future.

My questions are these---

1. Anyone have good or bad recommendations about where to order one
 from?

2. How about the choice between stock and say -- HD side plate,
 welded 3 & 4 gears ....etc....

3. Any good trans shops in the Oklahoma / Texas area for having
mine
rebuilt? I cannot find anyone around here that works on VW
trans.

there are soooo many companies selling these "rebuilt" trans and the
prices vary so much, even for stock... that it is best to ask the
forum.

 thanks in advance

 Robert

Sorry for the rash of postings from me here...

Does anyone have an aftermarket VDO tach? I can't find my
instructions (I've had it for a couple years) and I neglected to jot
down which wires go to which terminals.

There are three, one will be +, one -, and one signal wire from the
coil. They are numbered 1,2,3.

I called RMMW twice but can't get them to respond. I'm still
waiting. Meanwhile, if anyone knows I'd appreciate it. I'm
planning to start my car today and don't really need it yet but that
day is fast approaching!

Thanks,

Eric
