			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>I thought I&#039;d worked out that the whistling was actually caused by<br />loose baffles in the tailpipes - which would mean its technically<br />not a whistle but more a high-pitched, annoying metallic rattle. </p><p>BTW, taxi drivers in India often hook up the reverse-light to an<br />electronic music box - all manner of tunes, ranging from Jingle<br />Bells through to the Star Spangled Banner, to warn you to get out of<br />the way! </p><p>Yancey wrote: <br />&gt; <br />&gt; <br />&gt; At one time someone made a whistle that you could slide over the <br />&gt; tailpipe, or tailpipes, (if you wanted dual whistles.) 			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>Bob: This question was posed a year or so ago and received a variety<br />of responses, both serious and ridiculing. If you are intent on such<br />a diversion I&#039;d suggest finding a small whistle you like the sound<br />of, drilling an appropriately sized hole in the outer edge of the<br />fan house, and epoxying the whistle in the hole. If you tire of<br />this novelty, be sure to carefully seal the hole. </p><p>Also, be sure to check with your local noise cops....sometimes they<br />take offense at obnoxious noises regardless of the decibel level. <br />Now, tell me exactly why you think this sounds so great? Remember,<br />your actions reflect on the entire VW community.
